If you really want to get out into nature, we recommend driving a few kilometers towards Herkenbosch and Vlodrop. About 8 kilometers from Roermond, you'll find yourself in the heart of nature. De Meinweg National Nature Park is a beautiful and unique nature reserve where you can enjoy and relax in the tranquility of the forests, heathlands, and fens.
The diverse landscape of the area means it's home to a wide variety of plants and animals, including wild boar, adders, and sand lizards. You can cycle, hike, or horseback ride. However, be mindful of the rolling hills.
